Our Backyard

CrepesI tried my first attempt to make the yummy crepes that my brother-in-law makes.  I gave a pretty good show, but they aren’t quite to par. Bade, Bade’s little brother, a family friend and I all ate both savory and sweet crepes this morning!

Lauren SnowmobilingIn the afternoon, after a long nap (Bade is fighting a potential flu) we went snowmobiling out in our back yard for the first time.  We went up a familiar dirt bike trail, so we knew the way, but we found way more open fields for snowmobiles than we have experienced previously up there.  Snowmobiling on top of a mountain, is definitely something that I would recommend.

Christmas Time

homemade Christmas stockingsBade and I were up until midnight on Christmas Eve, our first Christmas Eve as a married couple, finishing our homemade stockings in the style of Bade’s childhood stockings. They turned out so well, that all Christmas day we had to show them to members of my family and members of his family.

Dr Mario n64Bade really wanted us to have our own n64 so that we could play Dr Mario at home, and repetitively asked me to put it on our Christmas list.  We got one.  It is setup.  We have already played it for a few hours AND unlocked both additional characters, Metal Mario and Vampire Wario.

It’s Finally Winter

mount aire swingIt’s finally winter!  I know it’s been snowing for over a month now, but the first signs of winter have just hit.  First and foremost, Bade and I have gone snowmobiling up to my in-law’s house/cabin.  We stayed up there this weekend playing games and eating really good food (thanks E & M). Second, the winter solstice has officially passed.   Normally it’s WAY into winter that this actually occurs, but since this year, my ‘winter feeling’ didn’t happen until this weekend, winter and the winter solstice happened to coincide. Last, Bade and I were able to go snowshoeing with his sister, our awesome host, and her 7-month-old. Snowshoeing is something that Bade and I started doing last winter, but it is SO relaxing to hike through the snow, with snow heavy trees surrounding you, and the cloud you are in the middle of, making everything else in view white. Just awesome!

Seven Swans A Swimming

Another Saturday doing house projects, cleaning, and just enjoying our cabin home. Today we watched a few deer dig in the snow to eat our dead fall leaves, and watched 2 big swans clean themselves in the river off our back deck. This house is SO cozy!
